President Announcement

Following our recent AGM, it is a pleasure to announce our new incoming President Sam Marshall & additional Vice President Luke S alongside Peter Hillie for 2020-21. Sam joined the club in 2008-09 and was our former President in 2010-11 & 2011-12. He has also served several years on the committee, and his son Toby is part of our FV Junior Squad. Sam is a great asset to the club and we grateful to have him back on board again. Luke has been a core member with us since 2016 and has assisted the club with coordinating weekly members games, coaching, and compiling our club history. We would like to congratulate them both on their efforts and looking forward to what the club achieves in the coming year.

Stepping down is Steve Webster, who has shown an enormous amount of support towards the club - having been involved as a selector, club coach, Committee member, Executive Committee member, pennant recruiter, green maintenance, Vice President and ... our President of course! We are not saying goodbye as Steve will still be at the club, but we do want to express our gratitude for all your tireless efforts and personal time over the years Steve. Well done again to Sam and Luke.

155th Year Anniversary - Bowls in Fitzroy!

This year we celebrate a significant milestone, 155 years of Bowls in Fitzroy. There has been many successes since the foundation years, from our pioneer members all the way to our present club. We have seen many club premierships and individual successes from state to local level. We have come a long way since bowls started in Fitzroy in 1865, with several minor changes including the North Fitzroy and Fitzroy East Melbourne Bowling Clubs becoming the Fitzroy Bowling Club in 1929. In 1947 we saw the foundation of the Edinburgh Park Bowling Club and finally in 2001 we had an amalgamation with Victoria Bowling Club to become what we are known as today, the Fitzroy Victoria Bowling Club.

We are proud of our history, our members and our community.
