What happens with our bowling booking in bad weather?
In the case of bad weather we can reschedule your booking to another date, issue a credit or refund you for the lawn bowls booking minus an admin fee if you are unable to play at the time of the booking. Please note these are only valid options on the actual day and time your function is to commence and not prior to- we do not accept cancellations due to predicted weather patterns. Please see our terms and conditions for our weather policies.

Can I bring my own caterer or any prepared hot food?
No. FVBSC does not permit outsourced catering, takeaway food, pre-prepared hot food, or cooking equipment to be brought into the venue by patrons. We are licensed to two caterers and they are happy to provide your group food if you book in advance. Alternatively you may hire one of our BBQ’s and cook your own self-catered food on our premises. 

Is there food available at the bar?
We always offer crisps for purchase, on busier days we have a range of pies and sausage rolls available. Please check our catering page if you would like to order food for your group. Alternatively you may hire one of our BBQ’s and cook your own food on the premises. 

Can we set up a bar tab?
Yes a tab can be set up on the day upon arrival at the main bar with a valid credit card and matching ID. Once your tab is set up we supply your group with coloured wristbands, which must be worn. Please note we do not set up tabs for individuals and tabs are only available to available for corporate group functions or formal events. We do not offer drink packages or subsidised drinks.

Are we allowed to bring BYO beverages? No, FVBSC is a fully licensed venue, therefore outside beverages, including non –alcoholic beverages, are strictly prohibited. You will find our bar stocks a decent range of beers, non-alcoholic drinks and spirits at reasonable prices. Any liquids brought into the venue will be taken by our staff and will be put behind the bar for collection upon exit.

Do we allow animals onsite?
No, animals are not to be brought into FVBSC under any circumstance (unless accompanying a patron for medical purposes).

Is there parking available?
Unfortunately we do not offer private parking. There is limited side street parking outside of our venue and parking available in the eastern side of Edinburgh Gardens. We do have a tram stop outside our venue, which trams 11 stop at. Tram 96 also runs nearby our facility on Nicholson St. This tram stop is a 5 minute walk to our venue and is a good option for those coming from the city. Is smoking permitted on the premises?
Smoking is only permitted in 3 different designated areas at FVBSC (please refer to our venue map).

  • The sectioned off area between the end of area 1 and the start of area 2.

  • Outside the back gate.

  • At the back of the property behind rink 7.

These have designated smoking area signs. Smoking is not permitted in BBQ areas, in front of entrances, on the bowling greens or banks or anywhere else on the property. Those not abiding by these rules may be subject to fines from authorities.

Are you a family-friendly venue and can children play bowls?
Our facility is very family oriented and kids can play lawn bowls, too. However, when bowling we do require kids have adult supervision on the green due to high risk of injury.

What are our office hours?
Our office staff are here Monday - Friday, 9.30am-4.30pm. If you are wanting to talk to someone about a function or book in a function, please call within these hours or leave a message on the answer phone with your contact details and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Alternatively, send us an enquiry online and we will get back to you within 24 hours during the working week. 

Does the club have FOXTEL sports?
Yes. Our club Has FOXTEL linked to 3 x HDTV’s and our large projector. 

Where can we store personal items?
Due to the busy nature of our club we do not store personal items. At the discretion of staff some possessions may be kept behind the bar, but please note we do not take accept any responsibility for lost, misplaced, damaged or stolen items. 

What type of bowling greens will we be playing on?
Both our greens are synthetic. Members and members from other bowling clubs have access to a member only green at the back of the property, while social functions and public walk-ins will be situated on the public green in-front of the club house to play lawn bowls. 

Do we have disabled access?
Our venue is fully wheelchair accessible, including on the green. 

We are thinking of hiring a DJ or live music for our event is this allowed?
Our club has a noise policy, as per Terms & Conditions, which states all outdoor music must be switched off at 10pm. In addition to this, DJ and large bands are not able to perform in our outdoor areas due to disturbance of the peace of our local community. However, an mp3/iPod playback device or acoustic/two-piece outfit is permitted in our outdoor areas. We also work with solo, duo, trio or full band musicians who have special rates for our club and will make your event a hit! How to book?
Making an online enquiry does not mean you have secured a booking. To secure a booking we require you to fill out our booking form and provide a deposit payment. You can call us and make an appointment to meet our friendly events staff to discuss your booking, and/or come along for a site inspection to gain a better understanding of our property. Please note we do not accept tentative bookings.

Can I make a tentative booking?Bookings are only entered into our system once we receive a deposit. We do not accept tentative bookings.

If you would like to leave feedback please don’t hesitate to call our office on (03) 9481 3137 during standard business operating hours or email functions@barefootbowling.com.au. Alternatively on the day of your function please speak to one of our friendly staff. 

Who do we report to about any incidents?
Please head to the main bar and report to the duty manager on shift, or any security personnel present. However, in a medical emergency requiring urgent attention please do not hesitate to call an ambulance on 000
